POSITION SUMMARY:
We are a U.S. based CPA firm seeking an experienced and proactive tax preparer/project manager based in the Philippines or India. This role is ideal for someone who has worked in a U.S. tax firm and understands both tax preparation and accounting fundamentals.
You will own the pre-tax preparation process: reviewing incoming tax documents, organizing client files, preparing tax workpapers, entering data into CCH Axcess Tax, coordinating with PH bookkeepers, managing fixed assets, and ensuring all supporting schedules are complete and accurate for U.S. CPA review.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tax Preparation (Individual & Business)
Organize and prepare 1040, 1120, 1120S, and 1065 workpapers
Review and input tax documents into CCH Axcess Tax
Prepare basic tax return drafts (no signing, no strategy – just strong prep)
Prepare tangible personal property returns
Prepare and track 1099s (data gathering, W-9 tracking, filing setup)
Business Workpapers
Coordinate with offshore bookkeepers to gather monthly/annual books
Reconcile:
Bank accounts
Credit cards
Balance sheets
Payroll reports
Tie out schedules to ensure everything supports the tax return
Fixed Assets
Track and manage client fixed asset schedules using CCH Fixed Assets
Post depreciation entries if needed
Coordinate with bookkeeping team to ensure asset purchases/disposals are properly recorded
Project Management
Create and Track tax projects using Karbon: client status, missing items, deadlines
Create client requests in Karbon for Follow up to collect outstanding documents
Ensure all projects move forward without needing constant supervision
Communicate with the U.S. team regularly to flag issues, questions, or decisions
QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years experience in U.S. tax preparation (1040, 1120S, 1065, etc.)
QuickBooks Online and Xero bookkeeping experience
Strong accounting fundamentals, including: bank reconciliation, balance sheet tie-outs, trial balance reviews
Coordination with bookkeepers to clean up financials for tax prep
Hands-on experience using CCH Axcess Tax and CCH Fixed Assets
Excellent written and verbal English communication
Experience using workflow tools (Karbon, Smartvault, Soraban, etc.)
Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving
Comfortable coordinating with other offshore team members
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Pay: $2000 - $2500 / monthly
Schedule: Full-time; Must overlap 4+ hours with U.S. Eastern Time (e.g., 8 AM–12 PM)
