Director of Finance & Strategy

Longwood, FL

DESCRIPTION

COMPANY OVERVIEW

ShotVet has built a nationwide, accessible pet health infrastructure in one of the most resilient and underpenetrated sectors in America. We are transforming how preventive pet care is delivered by combining strong unit economics, operational precision, and mission-driven impact into a scalable, data-driven organization.

We are entering a pivotal stage of growth poised to grow toward $100 million. This phase requires deliberate design, disciplined execution, and strategic thinking. The next chapter demands financial leadership capable of architecting infrastructure that supports sustained, intelligent expansion.

We are hiring a Director of Finance and Strategy who wants to optimize our growth models, KPIs, and GMs, not simply manage reporting.

POSITION SUMMARY

Director of Finance & Strategy

This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the CEO in a flat, high-growth organization. There are few layers to manage and little distance from execution. You will be expected to build, analyze, decide, and then work directly with operations, business development, and recruiting to drive results.

You will strengthen and scale a finance function that already supports a proven, high-performing operating business. The work is hands-on. The standards are high. The pace is real.

This role blends financial architecture with operational ownership. You will design forecasting frameworks, sharpen capital discipline, and elevate reporting rigor while ensuring those insights translate into action across the company.

If you prefer directing from a distance, this role will feel uncomfortable.

If you want to shape a scaling enterprise, influence real decisions, and grow into enterprise-level leadership where everyone pulls their weight as the company scales, this is that opportunity.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Financial Architecture

  • Design and own the mid-range financial roadmap and multi-scenario planning models

  • Build forecasting systems tied directly to unit economics and operational drivers

  • Lead expansion modeling with disciplined risk analysis and capital allocation frameworks

  • Translate strategic priorities into structured financial execution plans

  • Develop board- and investor-ready reporting that reflects clarity, precision, and control

Performance Intelligence

  • Design dashboards that connect real-time performance metrics to long-term strategic outcomes

  • Drive margin expansion through structural improvement

  • Elevate forecasting reliability and reduce variance across markets

  • Build repeatable, scalable reporting processes that reduce complexity and increase clarity

Financial Oversight

  • Create a finance function that scales predictably as the organization grows

  • Oversee accounting operations with a focus on structure, consistency, and control

  • Elevate the quality and discipline of the monthly close process

  • Strengthen cash visibility, capital efficiency, and working capital management

Institutional Rigor and Governance

  • Strengthen internal controls, governance, and reporting sophistication appropriate for a scaling enterprise

  • Ensure quality of earnings readiness and diligence preparedness at all times

  • Establish disciplined forecasting rhythms and accountability structures

  • Build capital planning frameworks that support thoughtful, efficient growth

QUALIFICATIONS

Who You Are

  • Deliberate, analytical, and forward-looking

  • Prefer designing systems over reacting to noise

  • Bring calm discipline to fast-moving environments

  • Think structurally and act strategically

Expertise

  • 7+ years of progressive finance leadership experience in high-growth or multi-location businesses

  • Proven experience building scalable financial systems and forecasting infrastructure

  • Advanced modeling and analytical expertise

  • Deep fluency in capital efficiency, margin architecture, and long-term value creation

  • Ability to operate independently while influencing executive-level decision-making

  • Comfortable working in environments where ambiguity exists and bringing order to it

You are motivated by building something substantial and durable. You care about enterprise design, not just earnings management.
