Associate Attorney 2-3 Years

Phoenix law firm located along the Camelback Corridor seeks a Commercial Litigation Associate to join our growing litigation team. Our firm handles complex business disputes and related litigation matters and offers a collaborative environment with strong administrative and litigation support that allows attorneys to focus on practicing law while developing their litigation skills.

This position is well suited for an attorney who is eager to learn, takes initiative, and is looking to grow their litigation skills in a collaborative environment while beginning to build and develop their own litigation practice over time.

POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES

This role offers meaningful hands-on experience working on complex commercial matters while developing litigation strategy and advocacy skills under the guidance of experienced litigators.

The associate will support both pre-litigation and active litigation matters, including conducting legal research; drafting demand letters, pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda; and assisting with evaluating potential claims and defenses. Responsibilities also include assisting with discovery, drafting and responding to written discovery, reviewing documents and evidence, and contributing to case strategy.

Additional responsibilities may include preparing materials for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial; identifying legal issues and risks within assigned matters; managing deadlines and assignments; and communicating professionally with attorneys, staff, and, when appropriate, clients. This position is well suited for an attorney who is eager to learn, takes initiative, and is looking to grow their litigation skills in a collaborative and supportive environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

  • Active and in good standing with the Arizona State Bar

  • Approximately 2-3 years of commercial litigation experience, or strong desire to practice in this area

  • Experience with legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, and discovery

  • Strong writing, analytical, and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
