Dauphin Island Beach Rentals is in search of a detail-oriented Maintenance Assistant to ensure our vacation rental properties remain in excellent condition for our guests. This hands-on role requires someone who takes a methodical approach to property maintenance, from routine inspections and preventative care to troubleshooting repairs and completing both indoor and outdoor tasks. The ideal candidate will be systematic in their work, comfortable working independently, and able to identify potential issues before they become larger problems. You'll be responsible for maintaining multiple properties across Dauphin Island, handling everything from simple tasks like changing lightbulbs to more complex repairs involving plumbing, electrical work, and appliance maintenance.
Must be willing to handle both simple and more complex tasks, including but not limited to:
General Property Upkeep:
Bring in trash cans from the street to the house
Replace lightbulbs
Change batteries in TV remotes, thermostats, and smoke detectors
Basic cleaning and touch-up work as needed
Report any damage or issues found at properties
Preventative Maintenance:
Replace air filters
Inspect properties for wear and tear
Check smoke detectors and safety equipment
Perform routine inspections to prevent larger issues
Repairs and Maintenance:
Basic plumbing repairs such as fixing leaks, replacing faucets, unclogging drains, and repairing toilets
Minor electrical work such as replacing outlets, switches, light fixtures, and troubleshooting simple issues
Appliance troubleshooting and repair including refrigerators, dishwashers, washers, dryers, and ovens
Drywall repair and painting touch-ups
Door, lock, and hardware adjustments or replacements
Deck, stair, and railing repairs
Outdoor Work:
Weed eating and general yard cleanup
Pressure washing decks, driveways, and pool areas
Assist with storm preparation and post-storm cleanup
Pool area maintenance support as needed
Project Support:
Assist with larger repair or renovation projects
Work alongside contractors when needed
Help move materials and equipment
Required:
Must have a driver's license
Must be able to climb multiple flights of stairs daily
Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors

Compensation Range: $16 - 19.50 an hour
