Position Summary

As a Bartender at El Patron Orlando, you are the face of our vibrant bar scene and a key architect of our guest experience. You will do more than just pour drinks; you will craft authentic Mexican-inspired cocktails, share your knowledge of our tequila and spirits selection, and build genuine connections with our community.

Reporting to the Front of House Manager, you will thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment where hospitality and efficiency go hand-in-hand. Whether you are shaking up a signature margarita or engaging a regular in conversation, your goal is to ensure every guest feels like part of the El Patron family.

Responsibilities

  • Drink Preparation: Craft a wide variety of cocktails, including signature margaritas and Mexican-inspired drinks, following standardized recipes for consistency and quality.

  • Guest Service: Greet guests warmly, take accurate drink and food orders, and provide expert recommendations on tequila flights and spirit pairings.

  • Bar Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized bar environment, including the bar top, glassware, and prep areas, adhering to all health and safety regulations.

  • Stock & Inventory: Monitor inventory levels, restock garnishes and supplies, and assist with receiving and organizing liquor deliveries.

  • Cash Handling: Process payments accurately using the POS system, manage a cash drawer, and ensure all transactions are completed efficiently.

  • Compliance: Verify guest identification to ensure legal drinking age and practice responsible alcohol service at all times.

  • Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff to ensure food and beverage orders are timed perfectly for a seamless guest experience.

  • Preparation (Mise en Place): Prepare fresh juices, syrups, and garnishes before and during shifts to ensure the bar is ready for high-volume service.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a bartender in a high-volume, full-service restaurant or busy bar environment.

  • Mixology Knowledge: Proven proficiency in crafting classic cocktails and a strong understanding of various spirits, particularly tequila and mezcal.

  • Legal Age: Must be at least 21 years of age to prepare and serve alcoholic beverages.

  • Certifications: Possession of (or the ability to obtain) a valid Florida food handler certificate and responsible alcohol service certification (e.g., TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol).

  • Availability: Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by the business.

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods, move quickly in a tight bar space, and lift/carry up to 30 lbs (such as ice buckets or cases of beer).

  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with both guests and team members in a loud environment.

  • Technical Literacy: Experience operating Point of Sale (POS) systems for order entry and payment processing.

Compensation

Hourly Salary - $15 - $40 depending on experience

Schedule: Full-time - AM & PM, Weekdays & Weekends
