POSITION SUMMARY

The In-Store Manager at Fortuna Bakery is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the bakery and café, ensuring an exceptional customer experience, efficient service, and consistent product quality. This role involves leading and supporting the team, managing workflow, and maintaining high standards in cleanliness, organization, and presentation.

The In-Store Manager ensures that all team members are properly trained, motivated, and aligned with the company’s service expectations. They are responsible for supervising both front-of-house and basic operational processes, including customer service, product availability, inventory coordination, and waste control.

Additionally, this role plays a key part in driving sales, resolving customer concerns, and maintaining a positive and productive work environment. The manager must lead by example, demonstrating strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to keep daily operations running smoothly and efficiently.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee daily store operations to ensure efficiency, product availability, and excellent customer service at all times.

  • Train, coach, and develop team members to meet company standards, improve performance, and promote a strong team culture.

  • Manage inventory and place orders based on sales trends to prevent shortages and minimize waste.

  • Monitor and control product waste (waste tracking), identifying opportunities to improve production and reduce losses.

  • Ensure cleanliness, organization, and food safety compliance throughout all areas of the store.

  • Handle customer concerns and resolve issues professionally, maintaining a positive and welcoming environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or management role in a bakery, café, or food service environment

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and manage a team effectively

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently

  • Basic knowledge of inventory management, ordering, and waste control

  • Understanding of food safety standards and cleanliness practices

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Availability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Hourly Rate: $16.50 - 19 per hour
