Position Summary

VueStay Vacations by Casago is seeking a Controller or Vice President of Finance to build, strengthen, and scale the financial backbone of a rapidly growing, multi-market vacation rental platform. This is a hands-on finance & accounting role for a disciplined, rigorous professional who thrives in environments where structure needs to be built, processes need to be refined, and financial clarity is essential to smart decision-making. You will take ownership of the finance and accounting function, stabilize and professionalize core accounting operations, oversee outsourced accounting resources, and create the reporting infrastructure needed to support a fast-moving hospitality business with an active M&A pipeline.

The right candidate brings a sharp analytical mind, strong technical depth, and a practical approach to execution. You’ll partner closely with operations to ensure financial processes reflect the realities of the business, while producing accurate reporting, stronger controls, and meaningful performance insights for leadership. Over time, this role will expand beyond accounting oversight into broader strategic finance leadership, making it an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, improving systems, and building a finance function that can scale with confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Have a key leadership role in the Finance & Accounting function, including oversight of accounting personnel and external partners, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and quality of deliverables

  • Review financial statements, journal entries, and reconciliations to ensure GAAP compliance and audit readiness

  • Establish and improve close processes, internal controls, and accounting policies to support a scalable, multi-entity environment

  • Listen to operational leaders across markets to understand drivers and help translate them into financials and actionable insights

  • Develop and maintain monthly reporting packages, including variance analyses and tracking of key performance indicators

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash management processes

  • Evaluate and enhance financial systems and tools, including ERP optimization and integration

  • Play a key role in M&A activity, including post-close integration of acquired businesses' Finance & Accounting functions, partnering closely with the Director of Integration to standardize processes, systems, and reporting across entities

  • Build and scale the internal finance team over time, including hiring and developing key roles

  • Support leadership with financial analysis and insights

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in progressive finance and accounting roles

  • Strong accounting foundation

  • Prior experience as a Controller, Director or VP of Finance, or similar role in a high-growth or private equity-backed environment

  • Experience managing accounting teams or third-party providers

  • Proven ability to build processes, controls, and reporting infrastructure in a scaling business

  • Strong communication skills and ability to partner effectively with operational leaders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in multi-location, property management, hospitality, or short-term rental businesses is strongly preferred

  • Experience in M&A environments, including integration of acquired companies

  • Ability to operate strategically

Compensation & Benefits

Annual Salary

$120,000 - $210,000 + eligible bonus

Schedule

  • While a remote role, the schedule for this role is primarily weekday, standard business hours, with flexibility required based on business needs.
