Position Type: Full-time
Contract Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
Compensation:$65,000 to $85,000 annually
Bonus Plan: No
Travel: Required at nearly every VRNation event nationwide, approximately 20% to 25% of the time
VRNation is building the most connected, high-energy community in the vacation rental industry. National roadshows, a large-scale annual conference, and education programming bring operators together in person. Events are the engine that drives the brand, and they happen on the road.
The Events & Marketing Manager is the on-the-ground executor of every VRNation event and the central hub of the marketing operation. This role works in close partnership with our internal event planner, who handles remote planning and logistics. Your job is to show up, run the room, and make sure everything planned on paper becomes a seamless experience in person. Marketing is the second hat. You will direct a small team of contractors who handle social media, email, and production, keeping everyone aligned, on calendar, and producing consistent output.
This role travels. Plan for 20% to 25% travel across the year, with consecutive weeks on the road during roadshow and conference season.

Nothing falls through the cracks
You are an event executor first. You have stood at a registration desk at 6 AM, managed AV vendors mid-crisis, and kept your cool when things go sideways on-site. You know how to take a fully planned event and make it come to life in the room. You travel comfortably and often. You can spend a week or two on the road, fly home, repack, and head out again without losing momentum.
You also have a marketing management instinct. You are not necessarily the one writing the captions or editing the reels, but you know how to brief someone who does, keep a content calendar moving, and make sure the right message hits at the right time. You manage people and contractors with clarity and hold them accountable without micromanaging.
Experience in events, hospitality, or the vacation rental industry is a strong plus.
5+ years of experience in meeting and event planning, including multi-day or multi-city events
Experience managing contractors or small teams
Familiarity with content briefing and creative direction
1+ year of marketing coordination or campaign management experience
Comfort with social media platforms, email marketing tools, and basic website CMS work
Strong project management instincts with the ability to keep multiple people on the same timeline
Ability and willingness to travel approximately 20% to 25% of the time, including consecutive weeks on the road
Valid driver's license and reliable travel readiness
1099 contract role
Remote between events with travel required for nearly every VRNation event
Flexible structure, high ownership
