Position Summary
Folger Gas is looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined Propane Service Technician to join our growing team. In this hands-on role, you'll install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair propane systems while providing safe, professional service to residential and commercial customers.
Whether you're already experienced in the propane industry or looking to build a new career, we'll provide the training you need to succeed, including assistance obtaining your Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement. What You'll Do
Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial propane systems.
Respond to scheduled service calls and accurately assess each situation.
Develop a safe, effective plan to complete repairs or installations.
Safely use a variety of hand and power tools.
Follow all company safety procedures and hazardous materials guidelines.
Obtain and maintain required hazardous materials certifications (company provided).
Complete all work to company standards while exceeding customer expectations.
Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to emergency service calls.
Work additional hours during the busy winter heating season as needed.
Maintain accurate service documentation and communicate effectively with customers and team members.
Required Qualifications
Ability to obtain a Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement (company-paid training available).
Ability to successfully complete and apply hazardous materials training.
Physically able to perform demanding service work, including lifting, bending, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
Ability to crawl under homes and other tight areas to install or service propane lines.
Ability to understand and follow local, state, and federal propane codes and regulations.
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and on uneven or steep terrain.
Must live close enough to respond to emergency service calls in a timely manner.
Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement.
Previous propane service or gas utility experience.
Mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience.
Plumbing, HVAC, or electrical experience.
Experience working independently in a field service environment.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Compensation, Benefits & More
Compensation
$19.00-$25.00 per hour, based on experience.
Schedule
Full-time.
Additional overtime available during the winter season.
Participation in an on-call rotation is required.
