Position Summary
Vacation Rentals by Aaron is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Maintenance & Property Care Specialist to help maintain the quality, safety, and presentation of our growing portfolio of vacation rental homes throughout San Diego.
This hands-on role combines property inspections, preventative maintenance, supply and linen logistics, home onboarding, and guest-impacting repairs into a varied and rewarding workday. You'll serve as our boots-on-the-ground representative, ensuring every property is guest-ready while working closely with operations, housekeeping, and trusted vendors to resolve issues quickly and maintain our high standards.

Key Responsibilities
Property Care
Report directly to the Operations Manager.
Conduct routine property inspections to ensure homes meet company quality, cleanliness, and safety standards.
Identify maintenance concerns, damage, or wear and coordinate timely repairs.
Perform preventative maintenance and light handyman work, including fixture replacement, furniture assembly, touch-ups, and basic plumbing or electrical repairs.
Assist with the onboarding, setup, and preparation of newly acquired vacation rental properties.
Identify opportunities to improve property condition, presentation, and operational efficiency.
Operations
Restock linens, guest supplies, and amenities across assigned properties.
Coordinate with housekeeping and vendor partners to ensure turnovers are completed on schedule.
Maintain organized inventories of supplies, equipment, and maintenance materials.
Travel efficiently between properties throughout San Diego while managing daily priorities and schedules.
Guest Support
Respond promptly to guest-impacting maintenance issues, participating in an on-call rotation that includes occasional evenings and weekends.
Troubleshoot common property issues involving appliances, Wi-Fi, HVAC systems, smart locks, televisions, and other home systems.
Escalate specialized repairs to approved vendors when appropriate while following up to ensure timely resolution.
Administration
Maintain accurate inspection reports, maintenance records, inventory logs, and repair documentation using company software.
Communicate proactively with operations, housekeeping, and vendor partners regarding property status and maintenance needs.
Uphold Vacation Rentals by Aaron's quality standards and brand presentation across every property in the portfolio.
Required Qualifications
Minimum one (1) year of experience in property maintenance, hospitality, facilities management, vacation rentals mandatory.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Experience performing light maintenance and safely using common hand and power tools.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize work across multiple properties.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication with the team.
Comfortable learning and utilizing mobile applications, property management software, and digital inspection tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
Professional demeanor and customer service skills when interacting with guests, homeowners, vendors, and teammates.
Availability to participate in an on-call rotation, including occasional evenings and weekends.
Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds, transport supplies, climb stairs, and work both indoors and outdoors throughout the day.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in short-term vacation rental or hotel operations.
Experience using property management systems or maintenance management software.
General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance troubleshooting, or home maintenance.
Experience coordinating third-party vendors and service providers.
Compensation, Benefits, & Schedule
Compensation
$26 –$33 per hour, depending on experience.
Bonus
Annual performance-based bonus based on individual and company performance.

Schedule
Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM, with participation in an on-call rotation and occasional evening or weekend coverage as business needs require.
