Position Summary

Maebeth Property Management is hiring dependable, detail-oriented Seasonal Housekeepers to help prepare our vacation rental homes for arriving guests throughout Mount Desert Island and the surrounding area.

This is an active, hands-on role where you'll work alongside a supportive team to clean, reset, and stage vacation homes according to The Maebeth Way. From freshly made beds and spotless kitchens to restocked amenities and the final details guests notice when they walk through the door, you'll play an important role in making every property feel welcoming and guest-ready.

We're looking for people who are reliable, hardworking, positive, and comfortable working at a fast pace. Previous professional cleaning or housekeeping experience is helpful, but it is not required. We're happy to train candidates who bring a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.

This is a great seasonal opportunity for someone who enjoys staying active, working with a team, and seeing the results of their work each day. Weekend availability is required, as weekends are among our busiest guest turnover days.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and prepare vacation rental properties according to The Maebeth Way standards and established cleaning procedures.

  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas, and other interior spaces.

  • Make beds and arrange pillows, linens, and bedding according to company standards.

  • Clean and reset outdoor spaces, including entryways, porches, outdoor furniture, and grills when applicable.

  • Dust, vacuum, sweep, mop, and clean surfaces throughout each property.

  • Restock guest amenities, toiletries, paper products, kitchen supplies, and other property-specific items.

  • Stage homes for guest arrival, including arranging pillows, throw blankets, décor, furniture, and amenities.

  • Inspect assigned areas carefully to ensure each property is clean, welcoming, and guest-ready.

  • Identify and report maintenance concerns, damages, missing items, lost-and-found items, or other property issues to the Team Lead.

  • Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting linens, cleaning supplies, amenities, and other necessary items.

  • Properly handle dirty linens and other items being returned to the office or laundry department.

  • Use cleaning products, supplies, and equipment safely and according to company procedures.

  • Work efficiently as part of a housekeeping team to complete assigned properties within the day's schedule.

  • Communicate with Team Leads and management regarding questions, concerns, delays, or unexpected property conditions.

  • Help maintain clean and organized company vehicles, cleaning supplies, and equipment.

  • Follow company policies, safety procedures, and professional standards while working in owners' homes.

  • Provide support to other team members and properties as needed during busy turnover days.

  • Perform other housekeeping and property-related duties as assigned by Team Leads or management.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to consistently report for scheduled shifts.

  • Weekend availability is required, as weekends are some of our busiest guest turnover days.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleaning and presentation standards.

  • Ability to follow instructions, checklists, and property-specific cleaning procedures.

  • Willingness to learn and consistently follow The Maebeth Way housekeeping standards.

  • Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with Team Leads, coworkers, management, homeowners, and guests.

  • Comfortable using a smartphone or mobile app to receive assignments and property information.

  • Ability to work independently while also contributing positively as part of a team.

  • Must be comfortable working in a variety of residential properties, including homes with stairs and multiple levels.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods throughout the workday.

  • Ability to safely lift, carry, push, or move up to 40 pounds, including linens, cleaning supplies, equipment, and property items.

  • Ability to climb stairs frequently and remain physically active for the majority of the shift.

  • Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions during Maine's seasonal weather.

  • Previous housekeeping, cleaning, hospitality, or vacation rental experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
