Position Summary

Natural Retreats is seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to join our Park City team and help maintain our portfolio of luxury vacation homes. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this hands-on role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining homes and property systems to ensure they are safe, well cared for, and ready to deliver an exceptional experience for every guest and homeowner.

You'll handle a wide variety of work throughout the Park City portfolio, including preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, property inspections, and troubleshooting HVAC, radiant heating, plumbing, electrical, appliances, hot tubs, and other home systems. You'll also assist with general property upkeep, seasonal needs such as snow and ice removal, and interior and exterior repairs.

This role is ideal for someone who is technically capable, resourceful, and comfortable working independently while communicating effectively with guests, homeowners, vendors, and the Natural Retreats team. Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform diversified duties to troubleshoot and/or maintain core home systems (i.e. HVAC, pool service, lock installation, septic systems, plumbing, electric, radiant heating systems, mechanics, etc.) as well as basic repairs to interior and exterior of home aesthetics (i.e. painting, dry wall repair, basic construction, etc).

    • Moving equipment, appliances, furniture, etc.

    • Hot tub servicing

    • Removing items from home for disposal

    • Maintain lawn, walkways, driveways, etc.

    • Snow and leaf removal

    • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments

    • Pick up trash

    • Perform regular preventative maintenance homes

    • Perform a variety of plumbing, maintenance and carpentry functions

    • Assist housekeeping when needed

  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs to homes and perform scheduled maintenance repairs

  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service

  • Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test, and make adjustments

  • Perform regular preventive maintenance in homes and properties

  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties

  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas

  • Perform general maintenance/arrival audits prior to owner or guest arrivals

  • Perform general maintenance/departure audits upon owner or guest departure

  • Maintain details records of service performed in all units, according to the daily timesheet

  • Communicate the completion and progress of assigned work orders

  • Perform maintenance as assigned by Management, including but not limited to audio/visual, electrical, basic plumbing, mechanics, and/or appliance repair

  • Participate in snow and ice removal around the managed properties and around the office as needed

  • Responsible for tracking and upkeep of assigned tool inventory

  • Responsible for monitoring, tracking, and reporting credit card and purchase account usage

  • Record billable items and hours to be billed to guests and/or owners for work orders

  • Emergency on-call phone - all of team will be tasked with this responsibility

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 2 + years' experience in hospitality, property management, and/or management

  • 2 + years' experience with electrical, plumbing, mechanics, and appliance repair, including but not limited to HVAC systems, radiant heating systems, and boiler systems

  • Working knowledge of audio/visual, electrical, plumbing, mechanics and appliance repair

  • Proficiency in technology such as cell phones and basic computer skills

  • Ability to lift 75 lbs. and be active up to 85% of the work day

  • Ability to shovel snow when required

  • Ability to have a flexible schedule, which includes weekends, holidays, night-shift during peak periods (November - April), as well as on-call duties.

  • Valid driver's license with good driving record and 3+ years of driving experience (will be driving a company vehicle)

  • Ability to pass pre-employment testing which may include drug testing and/or background screening

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with electrical, plumbing, mechanics, audio/visual and appliance repair

  • HVAC Certification 

  • Experience in the hospitality industry 

Compensation, Benefits & Schedule

Hourly Rate: $21 - $24

Schedule

This is a full-time position. Due to the nature of the job, the Maintenance Technician should be flexible with his/her hours. Weekends and holidays are required and will generally be busy and considered working days with guest arrivals and departures although these can be covered on request and approval of the Maintenance Manager and General Manager. We encourage all of our Team Members to take two (2) days off per week where possible. Guests can arrive at unpredictable times, and the Maintenance Technician should always be available in case of emergency, which includes evenings and on-call hours. Generally, this means working some inconsistent hours. Exact daily schedule may vary and differ from in-season to off-season. Vacation is generally taken out of peak season.
